K2 partnered with LKA Partners for the 2018 construction of The Classical Academy’s new black box theater and 658-seat auditorium. Variable acoustic drapery, ceiling and side wall reflectors, side wall diffusion, and an orchestra enclosure provide the flexibility and support needed for a wide range of ensembles and performances. Noise control of building systems and sound isolation between spaces was key to the success of the facility. Shortly thereafter, K2’s acoustics team partnered with FBT Architects for the 2021 construction of a music rehearsal addition to the school, including large and small ensemble choir and band rehearsal rooms.
